Internetul devine tot mai folosit si tot mai util odata cu trecerea timpului. Expresia “Sunt online, deci exist” tinde sa devide tot mai mult o realitate. Astfel existenta unui website care sa prezinte activitatea dumneavoastra a devenit o necesitate.
Pentru dezvoltarea unui website se foloseste de regula:
- un limbaj de marcare utilizat pentru crearea paginilor web ce pot fi afisate intr-un browser ( HTML, XHTML)
- un limbaj de programare client-side ( Javascript, Ajax) care este folosit pentru realizarea scripturilor care sunt executate pe computerul utilizatorului de catre browser
- un limbaj de programare server-side ( PHP, ASP .NET, JSP) care este folosit pentru realizarea scripturilor care sunt executate pe server.
Unul dintre cele mai folosite limbaje pentru programarea server side este PHP. Acesta are ca si avantaje:
- portabilitate;
- gratuitate;
- suporta un numar foarte mare de tipuri de baze de date (MySQL, ODBC, etc.); lucreaza foarte bine cu MySQL, o baza de date foarte buna si care in acelasi timp este si gratuita
- existenta unei multitudini de functii predefinite (poate deveni un dezavantaj pentru necunoscatori);
- este disponibil pentru orice platforma;
Pentru a putea construi o aplicatie web pe calculatorul propriu e nevoie sa avem instalat serverul Apache, un interpetor PHP si eventual un server de baze de date ( cel mai utilizat fiind PHP). Pentru a instala cat mai usor si fara prea multe batai de cap Apache, PHP si MySQL, este recomandata folosirea unui pachet care sa le contina pe toate cele trei. Un astfel de pachet este XAMPP, care contine Apache, PHP, MySQL precum si utilitarul phpMyAdmin.
